FW: Prepping for bottom paint

Garrett's Marina crew prepping the bottom for a coat of anti-fouling
paint. Like all painting, the most important part is the prepping.
This is crucial to the paint adhering properly. It is a very labor
intensive process the first time a boat is getting bottom painted.

The steps are as follows:
1. Mark water line with full tank of fuel
2. De wax the bottom to rid it of all mold wax
3. Sand the entire bottom with a dual action sander to (this is the
hardest part and can not be avoided)
4. Wash the bottom to make it dust free
5. Apply two coats of epoxy primer
6. Apply two coats of antifouling paint.

By taking the above action you will get a bottom paint job that will
last for years to come. It must be done RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
